To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to you to ask for your assistance, since I became ill with syringomyelia, spastic hemiplegia and complicated migraines, I have decided that I would like to create the following website for sufferers of neurological illnesses.
Syringomyelia is a chronic disorder of the spinal cord, where cerebrospinal fluid enters the spinal cord, forming a syrinx. This syrinx often expands and elongates over time destroying the center of the spinal cord. As the nerve fibers inside the spinal cord are damaged, a wide variety of symptoms can occur depending upon the size and location of the syrinx.
Spastic Hemiplegia affects one side of the body with increased tendon reflexes and spasms occurring in the affected muscles.
The purpose of this website is to aid all persons suffering from any and all neurological illnesses with information and support. On this website users would be able to do the following:
This site would serve all people once they filled in a medical questionnaire and agreed to the terms and conditions of the website. All information would be kept confidential. Each room would be monitored by room moderators for profanity and abuse, members violating policy would be expelled and banned from the site.
It is the intent of this website “Neurology Help Center” to promote well being through communication, medical information and knowledge, personal experiences, humility and a desire to love others. This site is not an attempt to practice medicine or provide specific medical advice and should not be used to make a diagnosis or to replace or overrule a qualified health care provider's judgement. Nor should users rely upon the “Neurology Help Center” web site if they might need emergency medical treatment. If you or your organization would be able to assist in this endeavor – I know that many people will greatly benefit from it. I was alone in my diagnosis and it took a long time to find resources. I would like to pull all of the information into one convenient location and make this available to all neurologically ill people. This site can then be advertised by doctors and by word of mouth, I know that this is a lot of work – but I am dedicated and there are a lot of people that have offered to help me in this project. We just need help with the bigger items.
